After a sleepy Tuesday yesterday, today was a Wakey, Wakey Wednesday!
Just as I entered the freeway, a sign said:
ACCIDENT AHEAD
AT ESCAPE RAMP
EXPECT DELAYS
Okay.
TRAFFIC MOOD MODE ON. (Whatever that is – as long as I got music on, I’ll be fine)
Then just as I got to Oak Hills, this sign greeted me:
From that point on, it was a crawl. We had a few stops but it was more like crawling, really.
Just before the 138 scales, I saw a couple of CHP cars and about seven cars on the shoulder. Wow, seven cars. But I read later on (on the CHP incident website) that there were actually 20 cars involved. TWENTY!!!
Whew! Finally, we were going past 30mph.
Not for long.
Another accident on the left shoulder. Just right after the “Kenwood 2miles” sign.
A couple of cars.
After that, I broke free!
But I’m in no hurry.
I already missed my train, anyways.
There’s always a next one 😉
Stay safe, everyone!

Funny how one accident (actually I call them incidents, because rarely is it just accidental), causes another. Glad it is my weekend and don’t do the drive in the mid week madness. Safe travels.

This is why we don’t need 19,000 homes added to the 138 near Lake Silverwood. That would add tens of thousands of cars per day to an already jammed commute down the pass.

The commute is just harder now because of the ongoing construction. What we need are quality jobs that people would not need to commute down the pass.

Glad you are staying upbeat after all that. That might just ruin the mood of a lesser person (like me!!)

Nah! I highly doubt that. Knowing you, you’ll write an exceedingly beautiful poem ’bout it 😉

There’s always a next one.” I’m always in a hurry and a lot of times, impatiently I’m getting restless in a hurry not realizing there is always a next time, a next train. That life is meant to be lived and savored and never be rushed otherwise we will miss many of its moments. Wonderful post. Thanks.

I’m always rushing too. When I miss the train and the next one’s in twenty mins to an hour, I just let it go. I’d rather be late than be early for my funeral!

Makes you wonder why all these I-15 projects had to be done at the same time.

I believe it’s primarily to replace the old slabs. Also, to improve safety when trucks merge on the 15/215 split.
